Arriving in Florianopolis by plane

Florianopolis is served by the "Hercilio Luz International Airport" (code FLN). However very few international flights arrive directly in Florianopolis. International passengers travelling to Florianopolis will most likely book a flight to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro and then take a local connecting flight to Florianopolis.

The major airlines offering multiple daily flights from either Sao Paulo or Rio to Florianopolis are: VARIG (www.varig.com.br), TAM (www.tam.com.br), and GOL (www.voegol.com.br).

Both Sao Paulo and Rio have more than one major airport. Please make sure your connecting flight leaves from the same airport your international flight arrives at. Transferring between airports may be an unpleasant experience.

Once in Florianopolis airport the best way to reach the Hotel is by taxi. The taxi ride takes approximately 35 minutes. Airport taxis do not charge based on taxi meters, instead each ride is charged depending on its destination and time of the day.

The ride from the airport to the hotel for up to four passengers costs R$ 74.00 on Sundays and evenings and R$ 64.00 on weekdays. Also there are vans which carry up to 10 passengers for R$ 84.00. If you wish to contact the taxi coop please call +55(48)3331-4182.

Should you anticipate any difficulty in your communication with the taxi driver, please be prepared to show him/her the following text:

"Por favor me leve ao hotel Jurere Beach Village na praia de Jurere. Endereço: Alameda César Nascimento, 646, telefone 3261-5100. Eu fui informado que o preço da corrida de taxi do aeroporto ao hotel seria R$ 74.00 no domingo e R$ 64.00 em dias de semana."

In Florianopolis, unlike other Brazilian big cities, it is reasonably safe to assume that taxi drivers are honest people! Drivers routinely take passengers to our hotel so they ought to know how to get there.
